Arbys Is Healthy For Weight Loss

Listening to the radio this morning, I heard a commercial for Arby’s roast beef sandwiches… it wasn’t the fact that they had a commercial but the tagline of the commercial is what struck me as plain old stupid.

Apparently roast beef sandwiches are diet friendly for your waistline. They went on to say that the large sandwich only has 350 calories so there are no worries of weight gain or diet sabotage… yea right.

Here are some facts about the roast beef sandwich that was left off:

There are 19 g of fat in this “diet friendly food” along with 38 grams of carbs. The fact that carbs are in the food is by no means an issue but the kind of carbs is. The white bread that the bread comes on does nothing more than raise blood sugar levels and increases the amount of fat the body stores.

So do I consider the Arby’s sandwich a healthy food option… no. Especially when you top it with sodium loaded Arby Sauce and add some delicious curly fries to the side… which by the way a medium curly fry has 380 calories and 19 g of fat.

The best option for fast food restaurants? Grab a salad and keep the dressing on the side. Of course go with a salad that has grilled meat instead of fried. Grilled chicken sandwiches are pretty decent too!

But if you find yourself grabbing for the roast beef and the fries just follow it up with a great workout program.
