Airsoft Radio Controlled Tanks
February 9th, 2010 | by admin |Radio controlled tanks that can fire Airsoft pellets are becoming very popular toys, and with good reason-they’re fun! Standard Airsoft pellets are 6 mm plastic, yellow balls that can be purchased from many retailers, such as K-Mart. Biodegradable versions are also available, and some places may require you to use biodegradable pellets when playing on their land. Many radio control tank models that have Airsoft guns also offer smoke and sound effects for good measure. Sound effects usually include tank engine noises, machine gun fire, and the sound of the cannon firing. Tanks with Airsoft guns can typically fire pellets up to 25 meters away, or approximately 82 feet.
Tanks may be used by themselves, or they may be combined in play sessions with navy ships and helicopters to simulate an amphibious battle. This is not just for kids, either! Many adults can and do enjoy war games as well.
One note of caution here: Airsoft guns are not recommended for younger children. In fact, anyone under 18 may have trouble purchasing one. Toy tanks that “fire” on each other with infrared beams can be purchased ready-to-run and may be better presents for the youngest tank commanders.
