What is the probability that the marble drawn will be either red or blue?

There is a total of 120 marbles in a box, each of which is red, green, blue, or white. If one marble is drawn from the box at random, the probability that it will be white is 1/4 and the probability that it will be green is 1/3.

= 100%([120 – 1/4{120} – 1/3{120}]/120)
= 100%([120 – 30 – 40]/120)
= 100%(50/120)
= 100%(5/12)
= 500/12% or 125/3% OR 41 2/3%

Answer: 5/12 or 41 2/3% or 5:7 ratio

    120 marbles in box
    4 colors (R G B W)
White is 1/4 so its 30/120
Green is 1/3 so its 40/120
    So far its 70/120
    Red/Blue is totaled of 50/120
    Simplifyed that is 5/12
Since we don’t know either red nor blue we cannot specify.

    1/4 of 120 = 30
    1/3 of 120 = 40
    30+40=70
    120-70=50
    50/120=5/12
    the probability is 5/12
