    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    7 eggs, separated
    3/4 cup cold water
    1 teaspoon vanilla

    2 squares (2 ounces) unsweetened chocolate, melted
    Preparation:
    Marble cake directions
    Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into a large mixing bowl. Make a well in the center of dry ingredients; add oil, 7 egg yolks, cold water, and vanilla. Beat until smooth. In another bowl, beat the 7 egg whites until stiff peaks form. Pour egg yolk mixture over the entire surface of egg whites, gently folding in to blend. Remove 1/3 of the batter to another bowl. Blend boiling water, sugar and chocolate; fold into the smaller portion of batter. Spoon half of the light batter into an ungreased 10-inch tube pan; top with half of the chocolate batter. Repeat layers. With a butter knife or narrow spatula, swirl marble cake batters gently to marbleize. Bake at 325° for 65 minutes. Invert and cool. Frost marble cake with chocolate butter frosting or other frosting.

    Just get a White cake mix and a choc cake mix and after mixing them in their own bowls, chill them slightly in the frig, then mix them together, only very slightly swirl them with a spatula and then poor the swirled mixture into the baking pans and voila!

    Do you have a Betty Crocker cookbook? Or any type cookbook? A marble cake is basically just a white cake. The only difference is that after mixing, you separate half the cake mix.
    Pour one half of the mix into the prepared pan. Add your choice of food coloring to the other half of the mix. Don’t over-mix it though or it’ll be a bit of a different texture. Drop the mix by spoonfuls on top of the mix in the pan. Then run a butter knife through it.
    Bake as normal.

    * 2 cups all-purpose flour
    * 2 teaspoons baking powder
    * 1/2 teaspoon salt
    * 1 cup white sugar
    * 1/2 cup butter, softened
    * 2 eggs
    * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    * 1 cup milk
    * 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch round pan.
    2. Place flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, butter or margarine, eggs, vanilla, and milk into mixing bowl. Beat slowly to moisten, then beat with an electric mixer at medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth. Reserve 3/4 cup batter; pour the remainder into pan.
    3. Stir cocoa into the 3/4 cup reserved batter. Drop by spoonfuls over top of white batter. Using a knife, swirl the cocoa batter into the white batter to incorporate it in a marble effect.
    4. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, until an inserted wooden pick comes out clean.
