Marble floor – polish, or grind and polish?

October 28th, 2009 | by admin |

My marble living room floor hasn’t been thoroughly cleaned for years, and there are stains which I think (I’m not sure) are actual stains, not natural veining. No cleaner I’ve tried gets them out, however.

My contractor says a simple polish will restore the floor, but other people say it needs a "grind and polish".

Is a "grind and polish" really better, and how much dust does it throw up, normally?

Polish for stains if is sealed at all, grind is only for scratch’s that go deep in the stone. a bufffer may be required to strip the wax sealer off then seal and wax the floors

a polish should be enough but if they were to grind and polish they would grind with water there for keeping dust to a minimum
