March 4th, 2010 | by admin |

Among the most widely hemroid treatment used, is the rubber band ligation. It is a process whereby the hemroid tissue is formed into a double-sleeved cylinder and a tight rubber band is placed over it to cut the blood flow. In about a week, the band falls off and is ejected during bowel movement. This treatment process is centuries old. It was mentioned by Hippocrates for the first time in 460 BC, who named this process as ligating or tying a thread. Thread was tied around the hemroids making it to shrivel. This process gained extreme popularity. At that time this process was very painful but now much less painful procedure has been invented.
