Does it leave straight, curve outwards away from the track, or curve inwards as if it were still on the track?

Newton’s first law states that "Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it".

When the ball leaves the track it will be free of any forces influence, so it will simply travel straight in what ever direction it was in at the moment it leaves the track.

You can put shoe molding up against the marble and either paint it to match the marble or a stain to match the floor. Shoe molding has one side 1/2" and the other is 3/4" You put the 1/2" side against the marble it will be flush with the top of the fireplace and extend out 3/4"over the laminate. Quarter round is 1/2" X 1/2". Be sure to get molding made from a solid piece of wood if you’re going to use a stain, some molding are made up of small pieces that are glued together, It’s called finger jointed moldings, they’re a little cheaper than the solid moldings but can be used if painted.

Ok I know it’s an odd question but I’m a childminder and have recently moved house, the room which I have bagged as my playroom had a fireplace in with a "marble" fireback. Originally I tried to stick a piece of painted hardboard against it as my blackboard, but this wasn’t successful.

I now want to prime and paint the marble itself to use as my blackboard, but aren’t sure what sort of primer I need to use, so am looking for the answer here please.

I don’t think it will work for blackboard paint finish as it will not be that well adhered to the dense marble surface and won’t take the abuse.

Marble is an expensive stone. I would cut a piece of rigid plywood to the size you want and dab a few spots of silicone and press it against the fireplace. This could then be removed later.

I just got a new coffee table with a marble top and i’d like to know the best way to clean it. Thank you!

The best way of maintaining marble’s overall cleanliness is with lukewarm water, a soft cloth and an occasional wipe down with a mild, non-abrasive detergent. The marble should be thoroughly wiped dry after such cleaning. If you like, a light coat of wax can be applied for further protection, but this is entirely optional, since marble will not gain additional luster from wax the way wood does.

Marble differs from most other stones because it is extremely porous. In other words, it allows dirt and stains to set in and be retained far more easily than denser stone. Also for this reason, it cannot withstand most conventional cleaning mediums – especially harsh detergents and acids.

Remember that marble has a slightly unstable chemistry and is quite delicate. Calcium carbonate (which is what marble basically consists of) will immediately and dramatically react with any kind of acid, resulting in pitting and scarring.

We all know about the bad effect marble slurry leaves on the environment around us.If people know about its beneficial uses there will be no slurry left to seep-in and get mixed with the ground water or get spread in the atmosphere by winds.Let us learn from the learned about it .Then we will educate people and make this world a much better place to live in.

Marble slurry contains Calcium Carbonate and it is alkaline. Being alkaline it can be used for neutralizing the acidic solution. Wherever there is a acid slurry going to the waterway we can use this to neutralize it. May be we can filter it and the solids can be recycled to make cement. There should be several uses of it but it may be un economical now to do it, due to the easily availability of marble and the cost of it.

If the cutting board absorbed odors and stains, it is not marble or granite. It is a faux composite and should be wiped clean with a mild bleach solution.
