Whats the difference between vitrified tiles flooring and marble flooring ? Which one is better?

A vitrified tile is a made made , very dense type of porcelain. The sizing and hardness will out last marble. Marble is a beautiful natural stone that is cut and polished in a factory.
You ask which is better? I would tell people it depends on where you are installing it. If your doing your private bath, a nd you want the beauty of marble, go for it. If your doing a foyer,kitchen , laundry or and high traffic area I d say do almost any thing other than marble. This because of the high maintenance and up keep of marble. Beautiful yes, practical, not always.

Can I put marble floor tile on the three walls around bathtub / shower?

We are building a new bathroom with all new walls. I have bought a nice marble floor tile at a great price that I hope to use around the tub and also instead of the apron in the front of the tub. The tub will also have a shower. Can I do this and do you have any suggestions as to what materials to use? Thank you.

They l work fine as long as you put a cement board for a backer material.
A vapor barrier is strongly recommended also.
If you have pure marble you ll have to use an raw edge of the tile as your finish edge, no big deal there since the marble color goes all the way through.

In addition to being slippery…marble is very porous, and will stain easily. Make sure you have a regular maintenance schedule set up with a marble clearner/ sealer (1 time a yr).

I just had marble tile floors put in and in some areas their is grout haze that will not come up.

Depend s where you put them. High traffic areas the marble is more maintenance. Sealing with the new sealers is a once every few years now. Not like the old silicone sealers that you had to apply every few months.
Porcelain tiles , when you view them, you ll get a more realistic picture of the actual look, where marble you may not know exactly what shade, color and veining your getting w/o seeing the whole bin of marble.
Marble on the whole is more expensive to buy and install.
If your doing a residential setting don t over look regular ceramics, since they can offer just as nice as a look as porcelains ,and porcelains are over sold a lot too. They are a good product but they also can be junk too.

What size should the grout lines be on a marble tile (12×12) installation, walls & floor in a bathroom?

The job is a renovation job in a 20 y/o townhouse. We removed all of the old tile & put new cement board over the old plywood floor. The old sheetrock was ripped out & replaced w/ cement board too. Should the floor be leveled w/ dash patch? My brother-in-law is doing the job & I want to make sure he knows what he is doing. I’ve got no clue.

You can do the tiles in the shower and floor with 1/8" or 1/4" spacers. Use a non-sanded grout so it doesn’t scratch the marble. Don’t use a mastic to apply the tiles. Use a white thinset for the marble tiles and make sure it specifies it can be used on marble. Make sure all seams and corners of the cement board have been taped with fiberglass tape for cement board. You can’t use the tape used for drywall. I thinset my tape in as I’m tiling the walls instead of before. It just makes it easier and no lumps and bumps.
Be sure to seal the marble before grouting so that the grout doesn’t stain the marble.
As far as the cement board on the floor…..I hope thinset was used and that it is screwed down also. Depending on the condition of your wood subfloor and what it is made of you might need 1/2" plywood over it before the 1/4" cement board. The plywood can be installed with construction adhesive.

It depends on the type of tiles you select, like anti-skid, bathroom, medium transport area, soft area, home uses, heavy traffic area. Again on the size of the tiles, whether you want joint free, or normal one and the designs and models. You can get a normal (No designs, no extra hoorays……)size tiles for 20 to 50 INR and the cost increases with the features. You can go for a brand which is manufactured in the same state where you are gonna purchase and get tax debates and save around 10-20%.
